14.7 iOS update killing battery on 12 pro worse than 14.6!

Why does Apple pull this crap?

My 12 pro used to last all day with heavy use. Ever since iOS update 14.5 the battery drain has gotten worse.

14.7 is atrocious. 2 hours in only using safari with an ad blocker, no background apps open, and LTE only (no 5G) and down to 74%. Battery health is 99%.

I wish I could downgrade to 14.3.

Apple needs to get their bugs cleaned before sending out these battery killing updates.

The time includes the OTA, standby, and solely Safari use. 5G is disabled to conserve battery. Screen brightness at 2”30%. Within 3 hours of only this, the battery is at where it would otherwise be after a full day of use. Standby is contributing.

Do you have any recommendations? There hasn’t been any other app updates or changes to the phone since the update.

Hoping 14.7.1 helps.

This has been stated earlier.

Thanks again.

I just went from 14.6 to 14.7.1 (bypassed 14.7 all together). I usually smirk at people who complain of battery drain issues. I never experience that.

Until now.

Not as bad as some of you, but I’ve never in my iphone life (since 2011) had 93% battery before I went to sleep and wake up 8 hours later (with zero activity in the Battery usage tab, btw) at 63%.

Just rolled the dice on a hard reboot. We’ll see…
