Someone in my family group that I’m sharing with, has all of my songs and they want their own library without having my stuff, is there a way to do this and still do “family sharing?”

My son just wants his own library of music while still sharing the family subscription what do I have to do to his phone to give him his own library?

iPhone X, iOS 14

Yes. for Family Sharing each Family Member should be using their own Apple ID for all services. iTunes & App Store, iCloud, Messages and FaceTime. As such each family member would have their own Music Library that does not interfere with anybody else's library at all.

Just using Family Sharing correctly is all that needs to be done.

If you are sharing an Apple ID with him, then you are not actually using Family Sharing and actually are defeating it entirely as your Apple ID already has access to your own subscription regardless of what device it is signed into.

Make sure your son is using his own Apple ID and is signed in with it on all his devices, and that you have invited his Apple ID to be part of Family Sharing and that the Apple Music subscription is a Family Plan (cannot share the individual subscription).
