Backing up Apple Notes

I Now have over 500 notes, and I would like to back them up on an external hard drive. Right now the notes are all stored in the cloud. Does anyone know how to do this? Thx.

There is no easy bulk export. Remember that you have a backup on iCloud, as long as that is enabled.

Make a copy of a note on your Mac or at iCloud.com:

  1. Open the Notes app and select the note that you want.
  2. Click File > Export as PDF.
  3. Choose where to save the document to your computer.
