My AirTags disconnected from my phone, so I reset them and tried other things I have see like turning of WiFi Bluetooth mobile date and then turn off phone.
my phone does show an AirTag is near and asks if I want to connect so I click confirm and choose one of the objects but then this comes up on my screen. Any ideas on what I could do?

If you followed the steps to reset the AirTag completely and then the steps to setup the AirTag and you are still receiving the error, then you need to use the Get Support link at the top of the page here to contact Apple Support.
yes I followed the steps for these but it still isn’t working.
