Updating Not being an Option:

iOS12.5.5 is the highest an iPhone 6 can go. So, if that is what is what is installed, then you can go no further with iOS updates. This is because it does not meet the hardware specifications for the iOS.

Finding Out your Version:

Go to: Settings
Tap: General
Tap: About
View: Second-line down

If 12.5.5 is shown, then it can go no further.
