how to use an usb 2.0 cable from an hp Printer to an imac 24"
Is there a way to connect an HP Printer Office Jet 8610 which uses a usb 2.0 cable to a new Imac 24" computer? I would like it to be connected versus wireless

Sure, SunCityGal from Arizona… you’d need a usb-c to usb ‘B’ 2.0 cable… i believe… you may also need to ensure the software for it is updated for Monterey… available here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8610-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367603/model/5367606… here’s a link to a picture of the cable you’d need : https://www.amazon.ca/Cable-Matters-Printer-USB-C-Black/dp/B00UUBRV9C?th=1
hope this helps

John b, this is the help and the answer I needed. The lightbulb was slow to come on, but it did, thanks to you example. This is what happens when the geezer generation tries to join the new product arena. I need graphics in order to have the issue make sense. I am truly grateful for all of your help and support,
You’re welcome, SunCityGal. That’s why i’m here and we’re here - to help us fellow Mac users out as best as we can. Been doing this kinda thing for 36 years, roughly. Sometimes a picture can be more helpful than a bunch of words….. i’m 54 years old… not quite a ‘geezer’ but no spring chicken either… anyways age isn’t nothing but a number… glad to help you out come what may…take care

USB-C to USB-A adapter. About $8. Google it. 👍🏽
Will the small square end of the usb 2.0 cable fit into the adapter?
