An administrator can view apple id password / web site passwords / wifi passwords from keychain access in Mac View the information stored in a keychain on Mac - Apple Support

Thanks, "tygb". I went through this but it's not quite the same in Mojave as Big Sur/Monterey. In fact, I was looking for the log-in password on a MacPro running Snow Leopard, and it wasn't visible anywhere, but eventually I managed to guess it from a hint, so 'problem solved'! The links were helpful, though. I'm just a dinosaur, but I need to run some 32bit software for image processing, which is why I bother with anything more than my iPad. Having started programming with Fortran in the '60s, the latest 64bit-only OS seems much too fast for an old man!
