can I retrieve deleted photos that have been deleted less than 48 hours ago ?

Yes, if they are in your Recently Deleted album, you can restore those photos. Navigate to that album, select your photo, and restore.

If you deleted items from the Recently Deleted album, they are permanently deleted and irrecoverable.
