Audio (Podcasts, Music) stops playing when using Safari?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 15.1.1

Go to certain websites with video windows, audio stops. Have to keep restarting over and over. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening?

Nope, not a bug.

It's working as it's designed to do.

The video on the site is taking over the audio.

Until Apple provides a way to stop auto play videos on websites, it's going to happen.

Auto play videos are the worst, I avoid sites that rely on them to generate views

Hey jsbraine,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your music pauses when you navigate to a Safari page where ads or audio is playing.

It sounds like this may be due to the ads so let's see if we can keep those from automatically playing. From Settings > Accessibility, try disabling Reduct Motion if it is enabled. You can also disable Auto-Play Video Previews on that same page, then test. Check out Reduce screen motion on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch which has further details about the feature.

Take care.
