Deleting Accessories in the Home App

How do I delete an accessory — specifically, a Hue light — that appears in the home app? I can find lots of information on how to add accessories but nothing on how to delete them.

Context: recently, I began seeing the red-colored “No Response” message on all the Hue lights appearing in the Home App. The lights are controllable in the Hue App just fine. I’ve executed a Sync with HomeKit command there, but that had no effect. I used to be able to control the Hue lights in the Home App and would like to again. If I delete/remove the accessories from the Home app and then execute a new Sync command in the Hue app, would that work? Any help / suggestions welcomed.

Hey sWoopSF,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities!

We see from your post that you're having trouble removing a Hue light accessory from your Home app. We'd love to help out.

Check out the section "Delete your home or remove accessories," from this article: Set up and use the Home app.

If you're not seeing any of the above listed options, try working through the following steps:

Quit the Home app with these steps: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Restart your iPhone

Be sure you have turned on the Bluetooth and you're connected to the Wi-Fi of your home network.

Try removing the device again

Cheers!
