my ipod will not even show up in the left corner of itunes

First of all, this isn't a chat room. Instead, it's a forum - where responses can take several hours (possibly even longer). Anyone here who may be able to assist you could be on the other side of the world from you and therefore asleep when you post. It doesn't help when you mark your own post as "solved", because the volunteers here who help are more likely to look for problems that have not yet been solved.
