I am having compatibility issues with my HP 8035 printer and my new 24" IMAC with the M1 chip.
The printer was previous linked to my old HP laptop. What is the best and most compatible printer to use withe the new IMAC? A second part to this question is which label printer for shipping labels works best with the new IMAC?

There is no "best" in anything because everyone's needs and budgets are different. I would recommend that you first determine what your printing needs are such as do you need color, how much printing do you do, do you need the share the printer with others on your network, do you need scanning or copying etc. Once you have your basics in place then you have narrowed down your search a bit.
I used to work for one of the major printer manufacturers (starts with an "H") some years ago and used their printers extensively. For the past 7-8 years I have been using a Brother MFC-L8900CDW that we love. Your needs are likely different than ours as my wife shares the printer and prints out about 1200 pages a month for her business, me I print maybe 20-30 pages a month.
Thanks for that information, I’ll definitely look at the Brother printer. In my retirement I run a small literary publishing house—publish 4-6 books per year and we do a lot of printing both manuscripts and promotional materials—mostly black & white but some color as well.

Now the only thing I need to find is a good label printer—to create shipping labels.
