Start with a Restart:
I know I'm right ;-)
I've had Apple Magic Keyboard for more than 2 years and now I've switched over to the Brydge 11 Max +. Both render the pointer identically, which is a round circle, which you can outline with different colors if you want, or increase or decrease the size of the circle. But a circle is what you'll have.
Did you just get the Magic Keyboard. The reality is from my experience, with the Magic Keyboard as well as with other keyboards with trackpad support, the pointer is going to be round circle. You can adjust the size of the circle and some other features (animations, etc.), but the pointer will remain a circle and and the advice above to Restart or Force Restart will make no difference.
Hello Mboje, Are you using a mouse or track pad with your iPAD. If yes see this Apple Support Page;

Are you using an external keyboard with a trackpad or mouse?
I am using my ipad Pro with a magic keyboard
I think you are right. Apple are still investigating
