Preview App

My preview tab is shifting in all windows I am switching to. I can't fix and locate it in one window, it is hovering in all windows.

Why is this happening?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.3

Click and hold the Preview icon in the Dock and choose Options. It will say Show on All Desktops, and that is why it is behaving this way. Choose None, instead. This way each Preview window will stay only on whichever Desktop it was created.

My open pdfs in the Preview app are hovering in all opened Desktops and it is not staying in one specific Desktop. Every time I'm switching between Desktop, the first thing that pops up in all is this Preview tab.

Screenshots: Black-Circled Preview tab is popping up in all opened Desktops on a switch to other and not choosing one Desktop.

What is the "preview tab"?

Your title speaks of the Preview app.

Please clarify and maybe post screenshots so we have a better understanding of what the problem is.

Control click on the app in the Dock and under Options make sure Assign To All Desktops isn't selected.
