Password on MacBook Pro

I’ve never had a password for my very old MacBook and now it is asking for one. In the past if it rebooted and asked for a password I’d just push enter (no password needed). How can I get past the “enter password” screen?

Set Using the Login Screen:

You'd go through your Apple ID to perform this. Find out more here: If you Forgot your Mac Login Password - Apple Support. Make sure that caps lock is not enabled when typing it.
