iOS 15.5 & CarPlay

Using an iPhone 12 Pro and running iOS 15.5. Vehicle has a stock stereo. After installing iOS 15.5, the handsfree functions of CarPlay have stopped working altogether. Siri no longer reads or is able to send a text message handsfree when my phone is plugged into one of the USB ports in my vehicle. Otherwise, the other features of CarPlay seem to work just fine. It's a new cable and is undamaged. Have tried a different USB port in the vehicle without success.

If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
