Iphone 13 Pro Max Face ID

My iphone is completely up to date. Actually this problem started with the most recent update. I am having problems with the Face ID. It hasn’t been reading my face to unlock the phone so i tried resetting the face ID. When trying to reset, i continue to get the message “move iphone lower” or higher. I’m in great lighting and nothing is blocking my face nor is my phone cracked or even scratched. I tried resetting my phone and it’s still giving me the same problem when trying to set up the face ID. Do i need to take it to the apple store or is there anything I can do??
