AppleCare theft and loss affected by move?

Hi, so I’m trying to decide if I should spring for the theft and loss coverage with AppleCare but I have some confusion with the details of it.

I currently live in the southern US but will be moving to New York next January. I understand that there is a different provider in New York, so how would my policy be affected by my move?

Additionally, does the policy cover incidents outside the the US? In the fine print it defined the territory of the coverage as worldwide but I don’t know if thinking that it covers incidents worldwide is the correct interpretation. I travel occasionally to Canada so it would be nice to know if I’m covered there or not.
