what happens if you try to transfer data from an old iphone to a new one with new images/data?

my iphone xs screen broke and we went and got an iphone 13 to replace it thinking it was fully dead, we didn't and couldn't transfer any of the data to my new phone and so i took new photos and texted people , recently we fixed te iphone 10 and i want to transfer the data (contacts, images , messages) but i wanted to know if i could transfer the old data from the iphone 10 to the 13 AND still keep the new data i already had on the 13

Yes, but doing so is complicated. Transferring all of the data automatically from your XS to 13 requires the 13 to be wiped before that process can start.

If you still want to keep new data from your 13, before transferring from the XS, you’ll need to manually move data like using iCloud Photos or a computer to store and temporarily move those new photos you took.
