I forgot my screen time passcode then followed all the steps online to make a new one but when I put in my Apple ID it just said I had another failed attempt at the passcode. I tried a soft reset (holding power button and home button till Apple logo appeared again) of my phone but that didn’t work. I’m using an iPhone 6s. Any ideas other than factory resetting my phone?
You will have reset the phone to get this far so doing it again will do no harm
You can sometimes remedy this without a computer if on iOS 15.2 or later by tapping on "erase iPhone" , but you will still need the Apple ID password. It will WIPE the phone, no choice!

If you've forgotten your iPhone passcode – Apple Support (UK)
