I have a great number of contacts on my iPhone, which I would like to delete. Deleting them individually will be a long and arduous task. Is there a way to do a mass deletion?
It would be quicker to use a computer. If you have a Mac on your iCloud account you could use the Contacts app to identify multiple contacts you wish to delete rather than individually - then delete them. These changes would sync across to your iPhone.
If you don't have a Mac you could use any computer to sign into your iCloud account at iCloud.com, go into Contacts, then perform the same task as described above - select a number of contacts then delete and continue this to the end of your task.

LOOKING AT CONTACTS ON iCLOUD MAKES IT EASIER TO VIEW THEM, BUT IT IS STILL A PAINSTAKINGLY LONG PRICESS TO REMOVE HUNREDS OF CONTACTS. I WAS HOPING TO BE ABLE TO SELECT A GROUP OF CONTACTS AND DELTE THEM ALL AT ONCE.
You can Select All (Command and A) in a contact group (the columns on the left) and use the gear icon at the foot of the page to delete all of the cards in one action if that is what you wish.
