Greetings Mikeschnell,

To confirm, are prompted to enter a passcode to unlock or your iPod or seeing "iPod is disabled" on the screen? If so, you'll want to complete the steps specific to resolving this issue which are listed below. You can also find these steps outlined in more detail via the following link.

  1. "Make sure that you have a computer (Mac or PC)"
  2. "Turn off your iPod touch"
  3. "Put your iPod touch in recovery mode"
  4. "Restore your iPod touch"

If you forgot your iPod touch passcode

If you're having a different issue, please let us know in more detail about what you see on the screen. This will help guide us through our next steps.

have a great day!

Thank you for your reply. I tried all of those things, and nothing worked. this happened because i tried to update to the latest version for the iPod. i had to take it to geek squad, and they could not unlock it either. I had to restore it to factory settings, this totally wiped out my whole library. almost 30,000 songs. it took almost 40 hours to sync those songs, because of constant error messages. I believe it is ok now but have no idea if i have everything. I will probably, never upgrade it again. its too frustrating.
