I try to set up a ID for my child that got an ipad mini from school.

I don't have an apple product myself, but I managed to set up an account and get an Apple ID via my windows machine. But here I can't figure out how to activate the family sharing in order to make my son an Apple ID.

Please advice

It isn't possible to set up Family Sharing from a PC. Go to a Mac, iPad, or iOS device, click here, and follow the instructions.
