Regain duplicates

On my photo app it showed me that i had ~5000 duplicates on my phone. Therefore i clicked „merge all“ so it will get rid of them. As i checked the „recently deleted“ section i wanted to check before finally deleting them all if i actually dont have them. I searched through the album app and couldnt find those photos which are now in the recently deleted section. Therefore i thought there must have been a missunderstanding on the side of the photoapp. I chose to recover them all.

Now if i check again, i can find all those pictures and videos 2x on my photo library… therefore they have actually been duplicates. But if i want to delete them now i cant find the section of „duplicates“ no more in the photoapp.

The reason for all those 5000 pictures of duplicates must have been through a missunderstanding between my icloud library anf phone library, where it chose to download them all over again.

if i check on the icloud library i can see those ~5000 pictures and videos as duplicates as well. So they are synched now to the cloud as well… how can i get rid of those duplicates??
