update icloud for windows

I’m trying to activate advanced data protection for IOS and I’m being told that I need to update icloud for windows to the latest version on my laptop. However, when I got into the microsoft store in windows and choose icloud it only gives me the option of opening the already installed application. There is no option to “update,” so am I to assume that I have the latest version? If so, why doesn’t apple recognize that on my iphone?
