APPLE NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON TOUCH BAR FLASHING WHITE LIGHT

I don't have a question here and hoping that Apple will do a RE-CALL on either replacing or removing or disabling the MacBook Pro Touch Bar. This is obviously a hardware issue, and not from mis-handling by Users. Using the Warranty argument should not be relevant because again, this is a hardware issue, NOT A DEFECT FROM MIS-HANDLING BY THE USER.

Apple has announced the removal of Touch Bar for later MacBooks saying that the Touch Bar is not popular. This is a weak reasoning and one that seems disingenuous. The real issue needs to be addressed and it's now a moral issue of providing ethical customer service to Users, that is, again, this is a hardware issue that Apple should ethically be responsible for, and not put it on Users to pay for this defect.

Regardless, if you want it replaced, you need to pay for that. You can also try these remedies found online:

Or,

You need to refresh your Touch Bar:

Go to Activity Monitor on your Mac- search for 'TouchBar Server' and quit it by clicking on the 'x' on the top left. Also, quit 'Control Strip'.

There is also a shortcut to perform these tasks from the terminal.

Copy & paste:

sudo pkill TouchBarServer

Refresh the Control Strip in Touch Bar, copy & paste:

killall ControlStrip

This immediately stopped the flickering for me. Doesn't really seem to be a hardware issue.

I think that you'll find the simplest solution is to leave it be. The optimal solution is to repair it. The number of users with the issue is likely insignificant and would not warrant a recall. As with any product, elements may fail sooner than the average time between failure; that's just how it is. Regrettably, your experience is not indicative of a defective feature.

I disagree with the number of users being insignificant, and it shouldn't just be a matter of numbers of users, it should be a matter that Apple released a product with a defective feature. If my experience is not indicative of a defective feature, then I'm assuming it's indicative of other factors not obvious to Users. Whatever the back/core matter to this issue might be or are, it is a defective feature for me as the User of this MacBook. What I regret is that I did not think to research complaints on the MacBook Pro prior to purchasing one to see that hundreds of other users complained about this since 2016.

Muguy,

Please read my email again carefully this time before giving a reply that my email already addressed. Again, the issue here is not about warranty. It is about SELLING A PRODUCT WITH A DEFECTIVE FEATURE and then telling Users to use their warranty or out of pocket money to repair it, and the repair is not even guaranteed to permanently fix this problem, so much so that Apple has already decided to ban the Touch Bar altogether in later MacBooks. Apple needs to RE-CALL all MacBooks with this issue and fix or disable it for free. APPLE SHOULD NOT BE SELLING A PRODUCT WITH A DEFECTIVE FEATURE AND TELL USERS TO DEAL WITH IT OUT OF POCKET.

All diagnostics have been done and it comes to only having it repaired or let the Touch Bar continue to flash the bright light, an obvious defect not of the User's fault but of Apple selling a product with a defective feature and it's not just ONE computer but hundred. Just review the complaints about it. I'm posting it here to let all Users know that Apple needs to take ethical responsibility and do a re-call for this defective Touch Bar. I will definitely let the management team know also and take it up to as far as I can without a lawsuit. I'm addressing a moral issue now on how Apple is not taking responsibility in selling a product with a defective feature.

Electro-mechanical equipment, regardless of how well it is taken care of, can fail. It is not simply a function of either how well it was taken care or of the maker's defective design.

Electro-mechanical devices fail.

Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and capricious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'.
