How do I get the three folders in the dock; Downloads, Apps and Documents. I want the folders with the icons on each one permanently in the dock on the far right. This iMac is only 3 days old in my house. Ventura 13.2.
Any help would be appreciated.
iMac 24″, macOS 13.2
In Finder right click on each of those folders in the sidebar and then select 'Add to Dock'.
If they are not showing in the sidebar, Go to Finder, Settings, Then under the Sidebar menu,
select them.
You can also, drag those from the Finder Sidebar onto the Dock. That should also work.
Did you right click or control click on that one Blue folder that shows several behind it and choose 'display as folder' like Barney-15E suggested above? Do that for each of those three BLUE folders now in your dock.
Here is a screen shot and there is plenty of room in the dock. The three folders are there just not with the icons on them (blue folders with download, app and document icons). That is my question; how do I get the blue folders with icons?
The icons on my dock are different from the plain blue with the symbol. That is the only thing I can think of to explain why mine is not working like has been suggested. Thank you and I'll keep trying to get the old fashioned blue folders with icons rather then the present ones I have (see below which shows my "updated" icons):
I tried that and it did not work (Ventura 13.2). Any other ideas?
Is your dock set for left, bottom, or right? Try changing the location to see if they show up and aren't chopped off by overlapping off screen.

Yes I'm running 13.2. And I just tried both methods and they both worked.
These are my Dock Settings from System Settings, Desktop & Dock:
Ctrl-click on the folder in the Dock and set Display as Folder.
Wow......Good Call Barney. I see now hers are likely displayed as stacked rather than by folder. I'll give you the 'Helpful' tag myself.
