Hi, I discovered this morning that my entire desktop has just vanished. I cheked the bin just in case it was a user error but nothing there.
My icloud is switched off so they arent there either. Ive lost all my business info etc. Anyone know where its gone & how to get it all back please? Thank you

Start with this...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
