Hello,

I was cleaning up my Western Digital Hard Drive and one of the folders in the trash continues to show the above error. I have seen multiple similar questions asked here, however, the responses were not helpful and did not resolve my issue. I am at a loss how can I remove the folder that does not want to be deleted from the trash bin from my hard drive.

Make sure the WD drive is connected and mounted before you try to empty the Trash.

Also give this a try if you've already done the above: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and try to delete from there. Reboot normally.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Hi-Here's my fix, after hours running into days of trying following different posted suggestions, including spending 2+ hours with Support, all with no resolution. Included Safe Mode, Terminal etc. It finally got resolved by trying on a different Mac or one running an older version of macOS.
