You do not need to call unless the device does not arrive by the date indicated on the most recent status email you receive fro Apple.
Very few Apple products are inventoried in a warehouse. Almost all modern manufacturers of items with options, from cars to phones, have transitioned to "just in time" manufacturing, meaning the device does not exist until the order system sends a build command to the assembly line.
This is very important for devices like notebook computers that have batteries. You get a computer whose battery is days old, not months old as could happen were it a warehoused item.

There is no problem. It will remain at that status until it actually ships. At that time Apple will send you an email with an updated arrival date and tracking information. Also at that time your method of payment will be charged.
I understand your concern about the delay in shipping. Unfortunately, I don't have access to specific order details. It's recommended to reach out directly to the customer support of the platform or company from which you made the purchase. They should be able to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your order.
After ordering apple sent an email to make a phone call but they called me. Then an email came that they are processing to shipment. Do I need to call them?
