Gave my old iPhone to nephew but it still shows my name in Apple ID. He has his on SIM card and phone number. Do not want it to be connected to mine

My husband gave his old sephone to our nephew. He has his own SIM card and number but it continues to stay connected to Steve’s phone. If he wants to download apps it asks for Steve’s passwords. How can we clear this so it doesn’t effect our phone?

You can (and should) relinquish ownership.

This can be done locally with the iPhone, or remotely via iCloud.
