How to get rid of an old Apple ID that interferes with apps

There’s an old Apple ID imbedded somewhere in the ether that reared its head upon starting up a new iPad. It asks you to input your password for that Apple ID before you can start running the app. It reappeared only when a new device is being added. What is the workaround or how can the old ID be permanently deleted? Help!

The behaviour that you described might suggest that the App causing issue was downloaded and installed using a different AppleID to that currently signed-in for Media & Purchases.

To resolve the issue, you should simply need to Delete the offending App(s) from your iPad - and then reinstall from the App Store.
