iPhone alarms are usually silent and do not vibrate.

I just realized for the last 3-4 weeks I haven’t been waking up to my alarms (I thought I’d gotten sleep apnea or something) because an update turned all of my alarms to silent (no sound attached to any of my alarms). Go through and verify that all of your alarms have a sound attached!

Instead of rudely insulting others for being frustrated. You could acknowledge that the issue is that it works most of the time, but then it doesn’t every now and then. Making it hard to pin down the problem. No matter the solution, its just way too complicated to be acceptable.

This is an obvious software error from Appl. I've delt with it on every iPhone I've owned for the last few years. It happened again this morning and it's ironic it usually happens when I ignore an update for too many days. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple does this initially so you panic trying to figure out the problem and you instinctively update. I'm just speculating but it almost ALWAYS happens when an update is dismissed for too many days.

I was having the same problem. I’m going to try the “turn off snooze” setting and see if it works. Also, whenever I would fall asleep with my Apple Watch on, my alarm on my phone would be going off in a low volume to where I couldn’t hear it. I did some research and when I went to the watch app my sound volume was on low. Try that if you sleep with your watch on.

Wow. this is quite ridiculous to be set as default. I think your post just made my hisbands problem of missing alarma crystal clear. He wakes up, looks at it and because he's half asleep and thr darn alarm geta quiet he goes back to sleep confused. Thank you!!!

This solved the puzzle of why it was getting quieter after 2 seconds when I was testing the alarm (setting it for 1 minute later, then watching it while waiting for it to go off to hear how loud it was—because the new tones are too soft and the song I set would't actually play).

On the iPhone 15 I ended up going to the bottom of the list of tones to select "Classic > " to get the list of classic tones that are abrupt enough to actually wake me up (I'm a very deep sleeper).

It is the Attention Awareness feature. Turn it off in Settings > Face ID & Passcode.

I had this too, thought I was going crazy. My boss called me one morning because I was late to work. Worst feature ever.

I’ve had serious problems with this current phone and past I phones where the alarm will not go off. I’m in the army and it’s detrimental that I make my hit times so I kind of have to rely on my phones alarm, but as of recent, my phone for some reason just won’t go off. **** I even missed calls from people trying to wake me up. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

Sorry, I think it’s actually the auto-lock you need to shut off.

Ive had the same issue in the past and still do from time to time. Try making sure your phone screen is facing down towards the surface it’s resting on. I’ve found that tends to mitigate the alarm’s silencing themselves

Go to Face ID & Passcode in your setting and turn off Attention Aware Features. It says "iPhone will check for attention before dimming the display, expanding a notification when locked, or lowering the volume of some alerts.", aka, turning your d*** alarms off. Apple.. why?.. would I be awake?... FOR MY ALARM TO GO OFF anyway. Hope this helped !

I’m running into this currently and quite frankly it’s getting my and my family’s nerves my dad isn’t very happy that I’m missing out on the first classes of the day and this is getting a little annoying

And yet, most of us manage to use the alarm on our iPhones with no problems. I haven't owned any other sort of alarm for more than a decade. My employers could attest to my lack of tardiness (despite not being a morning person). The difference between you and me is, perhaps, that I don't view learning how my complex tech works as something I shouldn't have to do.

Perhaps take your own advice? Consider how frustrating it is to give instructions over and over again in a thread and have people completely ignore them.
