I’ve used Apple Cash maybe three times in the 15 years I’ve had my iPhone and someone sent me money yesterday. I went to receive it and it said restricted it had me put in my Social Security number which I did correctly and gave me no other option. I called Apple support and I was told that I could not be verified and my account was basically restricted for life with no explanation.
Exactly and your operators need better training in this matter. Apple will never have to worry about getting anything from me again Highly disappointed and dissatisfied customer.
Hello~ Most excellent posts!! 🙂🙂

My Apple Pay was restricted last night I called and they said it’s permanent and the reason is confidential. I do think I was receiving too much money and from what the account specialist told me when you receive a lot of money it’s suspected to be for business and it’s supposed to just for family and friends etc but this really sucks
Yes, Apple Cash is only for P2P transfers between family and personal friends. Any commercial/business use is a violation of the terms and conditions.
If you want to use it for commercial or business transactions, setup a merchant account with Square, PayPal or Venmo. Then transfer funds between two accounts you own, your business account and personal account.
Business transactions over a certain amount will be reported for tax purposes. Too many people use P2P to avoid taxes and banks get heavy fines for it.
The fact that you were able to give a descriptive response furthers my point. Regardless of who the operator is this is information that could have saved time on wondering why. Which you somehow without supervisors or managers have been able to provide. Even if there was suspicion it would be nice to have to fight for the reasoning. Green dot don’t have to want me as a customer because it’s not worth being a customer to an institution that can’t even provide a simplistic answer to your inquiry. You have to come to the internet complain and have who seems like a give you a more in depth breakdown.

Ive been using Apple Pay for a while as well, mainly because it was an easier and faster way for my family and friends to pay me back for something or even just give me some cash for food and such. After receiving a gift ($150) from a friend, I was told that I needed to verify my account. I did, didn’t have no mistypes or anything. The SSN tab kept popping up and had me repeatedly doing it. I thought nothing of it, but I was definitely typing in the right answers. Now, I’m restricted. I called customer service and was told that all my information lines up, but they CANT verify that it’s me. I was told to call back in 30 days to have it re-reviewed. What?
Have you been talking to Apple Support or Green Dot Bank support or possibly both?
My account is restricted what do I do to unrestrict my account
My apple account was recently restricted and after being told it would take 48hrs I get no explanation as to what happened or why.
Did it later get fixed after 48hrs???
It’s unlikely to be >fixed <. What is the issue you’re confronting?
Yes they did me the same way. I was showing my niece and nephew how to use it and Apple cut us off bcuz we all sent each other $1
