Find My Mac won't stay ON on my MacBook Pro

When I go to the iCloud Settings on my MacBook Pro and turn Find My Mac ON and then ALLOW, when it goes back to the previous screen, it still says OFF. It also does not show up on my devices under iCloud. Don't know what else to do. Should be simple enough to select ON and have it actually, you know, turn ON. Hopefully someone can help; I've searched high and low. Thanks in advance!
