How do you delete an iCloud account?

I was trying to add my son to our family sharing plan on my iPhone and it autofilled an email and I stupidly accepted this and inadvertently created him a second Apple ID/email and put that on the Family sharing plan. I need to delete that and add his old AppleID/email. I tried to change the Apple ID/email on his new account to the old one but it says its already in use…which it is. Can someone help me with directions on how to delete this new account so I can add him to Family Sharing?

You can add a new Apple ID to thew Family Sharing group, and then separately request the other Apple ID be deleted.

Add the Apple ID as normal to the Family sharing group, if you have enough slots available.

Then request the deletion of the incorrect one. click here âžś How to delete your Apple ID account - Apple Support

You will need to log in to the created account and request deletion. If the account was set to an age less than 18, you will then have to approive the deletion from your own account.

Once deleted, it cannot be undone, so, make absolutely sure you are logging in with the account you wish to delete.

If the account was set to an age 13 or older, it can be removed from the Family Sharing group before requesting the complete deletion of the account.
