Downloading apps on MacBook Pro with Monterey

When trying to download an app on to my computer, I get the following box "this google account is not yet associated with a device. Please access the PLAY STORE app on your device before installing apps." learn more. Well if i go to "PLAY STORE". i can't find anything there that directs me to anywhere to help me "associate with a device". what am I doing wrong. Because this google account is associated with my iPhone and iPad and working as it should. TIA Dave
