Wrong date and time after battery died
Allow your Macbook battery to die through non use, and when you start up again after charging, the wrong date and time is displayed and cannot be changed except manually. Auto time and date is turned on in System Settings > General > Date & Time and it resets back to the wrong date and time. (In my case, today's date is 16 Oct, and auto setting date and time took it back to 13 August with the time collected from time.apple.com.)
I found some success (still testing) with the advice given in this article

But I also found I had to delete the 'Library' folder sitting alongside the plist file - so far, so good. I don't know if it an issue just for Apple silicon, but it's down to Apple to work that out. Hopefully there will be a fix in a MacOS update soon.
