Connects an old Apple 30” HD Cinema Display 65W 90W 150W POWER ADAPTER to a MacPro (10.6.8). Woot, still runs! (But monitor is starting to cut out. I wanna try a new cord before a new adapter)
Cord is at right in this pic found online - one end has 2 thumb screws connector, other has 1 USB & 1 racetrack connector. (Extra points - Whats the tech name for these connections?))
The Four-headed cord , one branch of which connects to the power supply on the Apple 30-in display is not removable. The other connections are firewire-400 and USB-A and display data.
The display data uses Dual-link DVI, required for displays over 1920 wide, of which the 2560 by 1600 30-in display is one.
this is the complete pinout for DVI-I (on a graphics card, almost never fully implemented on a device) which includes analog VGA signals in the blade at the end and the four pins around it, plus pin 8 the end on the top row.
Duel-Link DVI has a second set of color conductors, so it requires that the six pins in the center (medium blue in the picture) be present and connected end-to-end.
