iPhone battery draining fast after iOS 15.8.2 update

I’m having the same problem. Before this update my phone battery would last the whole day, now it doesn’t even last an hour. What exactly was in this update that caused this?

Same problem. This happened a while back and the previous software update fixed it. Now I have installed 15.8.2 it is happening again. There is nothing wrong with my battery. It is a software issue - AGAIN. Is this a ploy to get owners of older iphones to upgrade? If so, it is outrageous. Does Apple not realise there is a cost of living crisis and new or even refurbished iphones are VERY expensive. Fix this now, Apple. It is a dirty trick.

"This is an old phone" ... that worked absolutely fine before the updates 15.8.1 and 15.8.2 is now unusable.

"There isn’t much you, or anyone else can do." ... there is, don't buy anymore Apple products.

Apple could undo what they did. The “Old phone” excuse as a copout especially considering my phone was perfectly fine before the update. Another funny thing is I actually have an original iPhone and its battery still last a full week.

I’m having the same problem. I find it very hard to believe that Apple didn’t know this was going to happen. Surely they test their updates before releasing them. And they have been in trouble in the past using similar tactics to sway buyers to upgrade.

My battery lasted a full day before the update, now it doesn’t even last an hour.

So today I use my phone as I always do and the battery drains within an hour. Normally I would put it on charge at that point but I decided to continue using it at 1%. Weirdly enough it has continued to work all day at 1%. Interesting way to scare people into buying new phones.
