Unable to get notifications after update ios 17.4.1

iPhone 12 Pro absolutely no notifications after upgrading to iOS 17.4.1. I’m missing all notifications updates in lock and not lock. I tried to reset all notifications, nothing works. It’s really very bad

I am having the same problem with regards to not receiving alerts since upgrading to 17.4.1. I have checked all notifications, I have deleted and added the apps again and I have reset the phone.

It surely is not iOS 17.4.1 because...

I conducted a thorough search of this forum using the term 'Notification after iOS' and uncovered numerous posts detailing similar issues across various iOS updates. This suggests that iOS updates may not consistently be the root cause. Below are a handful of examples extracted from over 1,500 search results:

It's possible there's a known issue with your device

Dear Sravan.

I have the same issue as Anil6079, and many other users (who have this one, or any number of other major issues).

It's good that you defend iOS updates in general.

But I'm afraid that your 'thorough research" and your conclusions are biased and wrong...

Yes, the issue has been raised for many previous updates and therefore can not be specifically linked to the 17.4.1 update.

But no, you definitely can not dismiss it as independent of the updates...

Maybe the updates are good in themselves, but there is definitely a problem with the updating process (even if random) which makes it definitely not fail-proof and seems to occasionaly generate mayhem with the stable configurations and settings that were working fine prior to the update.

So better find a solution, rather then dismissing users concerns.

On a side note, trying to solve the problem all alone, I'm starting to suspect that the issue is not the notifications per se, but rather the "Background App Refresh".

Indeed, when an App (in my case Whatsapp) has been on the forefront, the notifications start working again.

But they stop after a few minutes, or as soon as it goes to the background when launching a different App.

Not the most robust multiprocessing I've seen...

I've got an iPhone 12 Pro Max using iOS 17.4.1 as well as an iPad using the latest iPadOS.

My phone NEVER gets notifications from 2 applications, Ring for the Doorbell and Rainbird for my Sprinkler Controller.

I should add, that our Android Amazon Echo's (plain on and a Show) work fine with the Ring Doorbell, as does the Ring Chime. The Echo Show even opens on the screen what the Doorbell sees.

I should ALSO add, the iPad DOES get the notifications.

I've compared ALL the possible settings on to the iPad, and well as all the web pages that are pertinent to this problem.

It all started recently, but at first I thought it was my router that I just upgraded to WiFi 7 swapping out a WiFi 6 router. That was until today. I was out of the house on Cell service. Never got a notification... and when we got home, both Echo devices had a notification as did the iPad. So it is NOT my LAN more than likely. I went outside of the house to get on Call service and the Ring app had no problem connecting to the camera... Worse, I stood in front of the doorbell and never got a notification.

Clearly, to me, the problem is in the iOS, at least for iPhone 12's it seems.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
