Migrating over your local Wi-Fi network is slow and highly prone to fail.

Migrating over an Ethernet connection is a little better, provided that both Mac's have Ethernet connections.

The fastest, easiest and most reliable way to Migrate, is to plug your old Mac Time Machine backup into the new Mac.
