App icon is not displayed or rather shows a black icon in AppStore / Test flight, but displays properly after installing in iPhone

Same issue, after today's release. Waiting for a solution.

The same is happening for two apps that we published recently. If you look at the App Store website, there are multiple sources for the same image in different sizes.

Some of those images are broken right now.

I’m experiencing the same issue as many others in this thread. I have tried all the suggested solutions mentioned here but unfortunately, none have resolved the problem for me. If anyone has any additional suggestions or solutions, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Same issue here. I tried renaming app icons. Cleaning build archive. Also used other Macs to upload app. No Success.

Please update if you get any solution.

Update: The app got approved and the app icon appeared - issue resolved!

Solution that worked for me:

I created new icons, specifically JPEGs to replace the earlier PNGs, and updated them in Xcode and submitted a new build. I don’t know if JPEG vs PNG made a difference or was it a new build.

I think replacing the icon with new ones would have fixed this.

Update 1) I tried submitting a new build. This is what I observed under "Included Assets" in App Store Connect - black icons.

Update 2) I replaced the icons in Xcode and submitted one more build. Now the "Included Assets" did not show black icons.

The TestFlight does not show black icon now.

Now I am waiting for the app to be approved by App Review and then I will update this thread if the issue is actually resolved.

I tried using this method to submit a new build. The review is still pending, but the App Store icon has already returned to normal. Amazing!

Solution : Replaced jpg instead of png. It worked and approved app.

It seems like publishing a new version solves the issue.

We published a new version this week without making any changes to our app icon, and after the app got approved, the icons "magically" started working again.

How did you replace? Have you made new icons or same icons you replaced?
