Apple Purchase At Checkout Monthly Amount Wallet Pay Unable to set up payments for computer.
Bought a new Apple computer in July. During checkout it showed monthly payments. I was fine with that.
The issue I have is the Wallet Pay Interface If I go in, I see the amount I have to pay on the entire purchase.
Here's my confusion with the process. I go to schedule payments. It's set to mimum and $25 is my minimum.
Now I hit Cancel Schedule Payments because I need my payments to include the computer purchase was just a little bit more than $100 a month.
So I am sent back to the screen showing the amount in the little circle and select Schedule Payments
Disclaimer about schedule payments. I hit the continue button.
My choices are
Monthly Balance ( which would include the ENTIRE COMPUTER AMOUNT AT THIS POINT - Not what I wanted )
Minimum Payment due
Other Payment. I select that.
Now here is a concern/design feature not welcomed. I have no way to put in an amount that includes my monthly computer payment and my monthly ongoing Apple services. It's either $100 or $150. It's actually a selection of a list starting at $25 and up to $500.
Is it really that hard to create an interface to allow the user to specify the exact amount? Just wondering.
What happens the month I pay off the computer and I drop that charge off my Apple card and I am back to my normal Apple Services. I get I have to monitor this.
Furthermore, I've already paid this month but the app won't let me set a start date more than 6 days away. So I would like a late month pay date as I bought the computer after the 20th of the month but again, I'm being cloistered into moving my pay date up. That's more irritating.
I don't know who designs these apps but I don't think they think through a lot of issues. It would be nice to have two mechanism involved with your Card. One for paying off large physical asset purchases and one for services.
What I've done in my situation is just turn off auto-pay and back to good old pre-computer fashion days making a payment stand alone.
