“Your iPhone can not be backed up”

A few weeks ago I tried getting an Apple One trial which I cancelled straight after as I thought I would’ve kept the Apple One, however I lost apple one and now my iCloud storage is full with 44.74 GB out of 5 GB and my phone can not be backed up and it’s telling me to upgrade to iCloud+ and I do not want to so how can I free up that 44.74 GB back to 5GB?

If you want to off load some photos ete, etc you could always look at Mega, OneDrive or GoogleDrive as a backup for your data and if you have access to a computer you could use that.

It sounds as if you've got a lot synced or backed up to iCloud and you need to remove it.
