Need to change my Apple Community profile email

I setup my community profile email way back in May 2011, before Apple ID was in action. After some years inactive, I came back (somewhat amazed I was able to sign in and my old security questions worked) as I have newer Apple devices again. There is no option to change my long unused and likely defunct signup email address. So, how do I change it, or am I stuck with hoping the ancient email is still working?

As you would sign in here with an Apple ID account, that primary email is used here as well.

Apple ID accounts can’t be merged and their email addresses must be unique, so you will have to choose between the old account and the new Apple ID.


You can change the email of the old account, but it can’t be the same as the email for your current Apple ID.

You could use email forwarding to have any communication end up in one mailbox, of course. But that is done through the email provider, which may not be Apple.
