tried to pay my entire apple bill on my iPhone, but will only let me pay the maximum amount listed - not the entire amount. why is that?

Review your transactions. If any are still showing Pending, you will need to wait for them to finalize. It usually takes a couple of days. If this is your first time, then you would grab the point on the wheel and drag it around to the full amount.

You have until 11:59 PM Eastern Time to make additional payments. Goldman Sachs allows you to make 5 electronic payments per day. When the pending transactions finalize, you can make additional payments.
You’re welcome. What I neglected to mention was the 11:59 PM is the due date, which is always the last day of the month.
Don’t hesitate to make multiple payments if it helps you to budget. But always pay at the least, the minimum due. You’ll receive your statement on line but get notified the first or second of each month that is statement is available in your wallet app or online at card.apple.com
