Adding cinema tickets to Apple wallet

Hi,

seeing as there have been questions asked about this with no successful resolution- I am asking again (using the perfect description made by the last person to ask)

I am now having issues adding cineworld tickets to my apple wallet. I receive the email confirmation from the vendor, together with the QR code and the “add to apple wallet” button. When selecting add to wallet, it redirects to mobilepass.cineworld.com followed immediately by another redirect to the last web page opened??

i have only recently had this issue and indeed have tickets in my wallet from a few weeks ago?

do I have an issue? Or is it the vendor?

I have been using the add to my wallet for years and had a nice collection of tickets, I am extremely annoyed by this issue and have found when I tick the box add to Apple wallet; as other users it refers to the last webpage opened. I don’t think it is an Apple problem after reading many subscribers to this page. I have opened a ticket with Cineworld now so let’s hope they do something although I doubt it. Good luck everyone with this problem.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. It’s the providers error. The code they are using to add the card has errors and is causing the unexpected behavior you’re seeing. Make sure you are using the ticket providers latest software and I’d contact their support team.

Safari - on my iPhone 12pro all up to date with thr 17. Whatever the last one was. It has worked fine - get the email from cineworld and tap the ‘add to apple wallet’ - for at least the last year (probs longer but I can’t remember) and in the last month, when I tap, it redirects me from to whatever webpage I was last on. App is up to date as well. As a quick update, it might be the provider - for the first time, instead of just redirecting me from the mobile pass screen, I get this:

I’m having the same issue, it’s since I updated my phone I never had issues with adding cinieworld tickets before..

Thanks! I tried to contact them but their support email had been closed, so I contacted them through social media and got a very nondescript nothing ‘we can do’ response- hopefully if a few people report the problem, they will look in to it…

It’s not Apple’s fault. If it were no airline tickets, concerts tickets, MLB tickets or NCAA football tickets could be added. There would be thousands of posts every day, but there aren’t.

The issue is long ago Apple made improvements to Apple Wallet security and your ticket issuer has failed to update their app or website to the minimum security requirements.
