Siri not confirming calls

Like many of you, I upgraded to iOS 18 yesterday. When I asked Siri (using side button or voice) to make a phone call to someone it made the call but did not say calling "John Smith" outloud nor was there text. However when I had my phone on Standby mode later that night as I was going to bed I noticed it gave the verbal command when I asked it to call someone,

is anyone else expiercing this or is it just me.

Similar issue. My brother is blind and uses Siri to make calls. He has a IPhone 14. After we updated to IOS 18, when he asks Siri to make a call he receives no confirmation by Siri as to who the call is being made to. As we all know, Siri is known to misunderstand requests. This is a big problem for him. We ventured to the Apple Store and the geniuses were unable to help but a specialist was assigned to call us to help resolve the issue. The specialist did call and was unable to help but suggested that we go back to the Apple Store and they could set his phone back to the previous IOS. In the store, the Genius indicated that all computers were all set to IOS 18 and we would not be able to go back to the previous version. Very frustrating. Hope an fix is forthcoming to correct this issue.
