Found this on another thread How to Stop Battery Draining on iPhone After a Recent IOS Update and it's been a game changer, battery which was reducing 20 to 30% in 1 hour of basic usage now reduces only 15%. I will update you on which adjustment helped alot as I am currently testing on it as I don't want to disable some features so will update soon here.

It has been crazy. Nothing seems to help.

I switched from a 14 ProMax to a 15 ProMax and my phone does not last. It has been a week now since I switched, and I blamed it in part of being in a low coverage area and the internet being out. Back home. Still the same thing. Home and lock screen was just bonkers, so I removed everything from the home and Lock Screen. Disallowed a whole bunch of backgrounding apps ( even though not related to the drainage ), a few weather apps, ... the usual.

But, like this morning, phone is charged. I used it for 20 minutes: a 10 min phone call and 10 min on the ring app changing some settings, and the phone lost 10% battery ... for 20 minutes. That used to be maybe 2% ?

It is like the smallest thing runs the phone on full blast?

Instead of on a single efficiency core?

I don't have time to call in, hang around with support, who would then advise to wipe my phone and start fresh. I used to do fresh installs on the computer and iPad in the past; but these days; there's just way too much information, apps, login credentials and what not on a mobile phone. It would take weeks to start from scratch.

Anyway. Sent the link to here, so they will hopefully read up ... and not make further claims when somebody calls in that they've never heard about this issue.

And I switched off auto sw update, and I switched off auto sw download, and I manually deleted the downloaded sw setup file of ver 18.1 for a couple of times, but in vain. The update notification to update to 18.1 either now or this night is always there.

Same here… I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Before ios18 my battery was really great, I use my phone for work most of the time so it just stay on the table for calls. Before I was having still around 70-80% battery at the end of the day.

now with iOS 18 without doing anything during the day, I have 25% at the end of the day…

what the **** is going on ???

During read of all this comments I found one thing that I didn’t do after update. And it looks like that helps and battery drain is gone now, at least for phone.

Background: I’m using shortcut to turn off charging at 90%. Probably charge to 100 is needed after update to calibrate battery.

my solution: Charge battery to 100% and keep it that way on charger for 1h.

before: phone charger before night, till the morning 30% battery drop.

now: after night 3-6% battery drop.
